Community Support Services (CSS), is a non-profit agency serving individuals with developmental disabilities. We offer employment opportunities in the Human Services field.


Client Advocates and Advocate Floats 
(Joplin, Carthage, Webb City, Carl Junction, and Nevada)

Like to have a fun, challenging, and fulfilling job? We have Full and Part Time opportunities with some flexibility in work schedules. Shifts include days, evenings, overnights and weekends. Our wages begin at $7.75/hour for the Advocate position and $8.00/hour for the Float position.  Employment at CSS provides an opportunity to experience diverse job duties and offers a flexible, fast paced and challenging work environment. We offer excellent benefits to full-time employees and competitive salary based on qualifications and experience.

We provide a variety of services and hire for the following programs:

  • Residential (Group Homes) Joplin/Carthage/Carl Junction
  • Individualized Supported Living - Jasper & Vernon County area
  • Community Services - Jasper County area

Community Coordinator or Residential Coordinator

These are management positions requiring a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a Human Service field with three years previous experience in behavior management systematic instruction, advocacy, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities. An ideal candidate will have experience working in program administration and management. The Residential Coordinator position requires at least one year of supervisory experience.


First Steps of Southwest Missouri and Greater Kansas City

First Steps is a federally funded program for children ages 0 to 3 years with developmental delays. Our First Steps positions require a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development and Family Studies, or a  related human service field. These positions also require experience and expertise in facilitating positive and productive group development and knowledge and practical applications of effective adult learning techniques.

Internships

Community Support Services offers paid Internships within the Human Service field.



Tuition Program 

Community Support Services offers employees up to $500 in tuition reimbursement funds per semester if you meet the following criteria:

  • You work at least 20 hours per week for CSS
  • You are a college sophomore, junior, or senior
  • You are majoring in a human service field
  • You are attending MSSU, OCC, or PSU
